China visit

The mayor of one of the fastest growing and successful areas of China visited Fusion’s headquarters and met with the Mayor of Chesterfield to further develop international trade relations.

The Mayor of Kunshan, Lu Jun, enjoyed a tour of the Fusion site before going on to the town hall to meet with Chesterfield Borough Cllr Peter Barr, the town mayor, as well as Chesterfield Borough Council’s chief executive Huw Bowen.

The visit was instigated through Fusion Group ’s strong links with China. Fusion has a manufacturing venture in Kunshan, which manufactures a wide range of butt fusion and electrofusion components.

The Mayor of Chesterfield Peter Barr said: “It was an absolute pleasure to meet the Mayor of Kunshan and his colleagues.

“We had some interesting discussions about future possible links between Chesterfield and Kunshan.

“It’s great to know that there are still manufacturing companies in Chesterfield such as the Fusion Group having worldwide success and who take the lead in bringing overseas visitors to the town.”
